Hope and Shelter Wyre
This group represents different organisations across Wyre who are looking to form a forum whose aim is to improve access to services, be a voice for the voiceless and provide practical multidisciplinary help for those who are homeless or in danger of homelessness.

Stage 1: Conversation Starter November 2024
A range of community groups, statutory organisations and others came together to discuss the increase in homelessness seen locally and how we might work together for the benefit of those who find themselves homeless.
It was a fruitful discussion and it was agreed that we should form a forum, next meeting in February to think about practical next steps and turning words into actions.
Stage 2: Gather
By September 2025
In this stage, we will need to plan out our objectives and aims as a group. Who will help lead the group? Who can help? How are we going to move towards being functional for those most in need?
In meetings held since November, we have decided to focus on three key objectives:
-
Forum: Meeting quarterly to share information and support between organisations and individuals who are engaged in work against poverty and homelessness.
-
Information: Organise an online presence where lists of services and help for those struggling with homelessness and poverty, and those who encounter them can be sign posted to help.
-
Training: Eventually to organise and offer training for organisations and individuals on how best to engage positively with people who are struggling for shelter and against poverty in a way that honours their humanity and worth, and how to signpost people to relevant services.

Stage 4: Implementation
Beginning the process of embedding our objectives:
-
Information being collected and displayed online.
-
Organising meetings quarterly to share information and update.
-
Begin understanding how best to offer training.
Stage 5: Embedding
Normalising contact between organisations and regular meeting.
Offering training.
Updating information.
Reassessing need and practice.
