St Andrews Cleveleys

Vision Statements

Over the course of about 12 months, as a leadership team, PCC and congregation, we prayed and discerned what we believe God is calling us to be for our community in the name of Christ.

We did so with the basic premise that we would not be guided by our own wishes but prayerfully ask God to be the Head of our Church here. Below is what we believe we are called to be for God's glory:

Led by Jesus

We believe, through the Holy Spirit, that we are called to be led by Jesus through:

  • Learning more about Him through Bible study and prayer.

  • By providing a place for others continual spiritual growth.

  • By children and adults participating in activities together, enabling different generations to have fun and engage.

Worship

We believe, through the Holy Spirit, that we are called to open our doors to all who wish to come and worship. Our worship must be:

  • Accessible to everyone; nobody feels shut out.

  • Using language, we all understand.

  • Feeling we are all joining in as we are able.

  • Joining in and contributing in a variety of ways.

Being Disciples

We believe, through the Holy Spirit, that we are called to:

  • Be joyful, open people who are open about our faith.

  • Keep on learning and deepening our knowledge of God and scripture.

  • Be a family, supporting each other and welcoming all.

  • Be joyful people.

Making Disciples

We believe, through the Holy Spirit, that we are called to live our faith openly, being committed to caring for our community by ensuring that when do is inclusive and rooted in our Christian faith, inviting others to join us.

Teaching

We believe, through the Holy Spirit, that we are called to develop our understanding of the basis of our faith through interaction and learning together. This could include:

  • Question and Answer sessions in the service.

  • Bibles studies or house groups.

  • Alphas Courses

People should be able to access whichever activities they feel comfortable with.
